Diaconate Program at HCHC|
We are excited to welcome 49 students to the HCHC campus this week for their in-person sessions as part of our Diaconate Program!Founded in 2008, the Diaconate Program at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology is dedicated to educating, training, and preparing diaconate candidates for service in the Orthodox Church. Through intensive teleturgics and mentoring, comprehensive distance learning offerings, and three enriching summer sessions on our beautiful campus, we strive to introduce candidates to the rich theology, history, liturgical practices, pastoral approaches, and canonical tradition of the Orthodox Church.We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the Fathers, professors, seminarians, and, of course, to all the students for dedicating their time and effort to this important journey. As happy as I am to see that the need for the diaconate is finally being recognized, this post is very painful to see as someone who is called by God to serve others through the diaconal ministry, but is rejected on the basis of my gender.
